Volunteering is a GREAT way to GET INVOLVED with us, and support us. Not only that, it is well known that volunteers get much out of helping – they feel like they really make a difference and contribute to their own wellbeing.

More about Volunteering

It’s easy to support us by organising your own activity or get together with friends. Taking on a personal challenge is another brilliant way to support Dorset Mind – plus we think it feels great too!

How to Donate

We shape futures and change lives

We are Dorset Mind; a pioneering local charity that has been supporting local people with mental health challenges since 1946.
We educate, challenge mental health stigma and inequality, and promote recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience.
Our support groups, counselling and accredited befriending service help people regain social skills. We also deliver educational
wellbeing programmes for schools and workplaces and provide volunteer opportunities across all areas of our organisation.

Please note we are not a crisis service.

Support Groups

Our peer-support and activity groups are led by a facilitator. They are safe, non-judgemental and offer coping skills and signposting to wellbeing support options.

About Our Groups

Our professional Befriending Service provides one-to-one support in the community. Befrienders help people develop positive mental wellbeing and reduce isolation.
