Volunteering is a GREAT way to GET INVOLVED with us, and support us. Not only that, it is well known that volunteers get much out of helping – they feel like they really make a difference and contribute to their own wellbeing.

More about Volunteering

It’s easy to support us by organising your own activity or get together with friends. Taking on a personal challenge is another brilliant way to support Dorset Mind – plus we think it feels great too!

Coronavirus update:

At Dorset Mind, we’re taking the Coronavirus pandemic incredibly seriously and know that it has caused
high levels of anxiety amongst the public and our own staff, volunteers and participants.

Our existing services have all been replaced by telephone or video meetings until further notice.
See here for our timetable of support, some times have changed.
Please DO NOT attend any groups or 1-2-1 support in person, unless you’ve been directed to

** Please note our phones are not being constantly manned, but we are able to pick up messages during our phased return.

Dorset Mind Works programme of support for workplaces.

We have put together a post on the virus, with information to help you cope.

We shape futures and change lives

We are Dorset Mind; a pioneering local charity that has been supporting local people with mental health challenges since 1946.
We educate, challenge mental health stigma and inequality, and promote recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience.
Our support groups, counselling and accredited befriending service help people regain social skills. We also deliver educational
wellbeing programmes for schools and workplaces and provide volunteer opportunities across all areas of our organisation.

Please note we are not a crisis service.
