Text donating

You can make donations to support Dorset Mind’s work by text. This is an easy way to support us using your mobile phone.

This campaign has a default donation amount of £3. A supporter texting our campaign keyword alone to 70460 (e.g. DORSETMIND) will make a donation of £3.
Our service allows supporters to choose how much to give by adding the amount they wish to donate after the keyword.

For example, a supporter wishing to donate £7 could do so by texting: DORSETMIND 7 to 70460

Active text codes:

Text DAILYDONATE3 to 70460 to donate £3 to Dorset Mind
Text GROUPS3 to 70460 to donate £3 to Dorset Mind
Text DORSETPRIDE to 70085 to donate £3 to Dorset Mind

Texts cost the chosen amount plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting-in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text DORSETMINDNOINFO to 70460.

Dorset Mind will receive 95% of your donation.

Over 16s only. You must have the bill payer’s permission to send a text donation to Dorset Mind.

Dorset Mind and its subcontractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction, or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any text being lost or not properly received.

If you send a text in error to Dorset Mind KEYWORDS and number 70460 it’s likely that you’ll be charged for your donation. You’ll know if this has happened if you receive a text from Dorset Mind to thank you and to confirm the donation. If this has happened, please contact your network directly to claim a refund. If your network will not refund the donation, you should contact us by emailing fundraising@dorsetmind.uk

We take your privacy seriously and will only use your data to process your donation, claim Gift Aid (if you want us to) and contact you on any administrative matters that may come up.

You can find out more about your rights, how we use your personal information and how we keep your details safe and secure by reading our Privacy Policy.

Our social media community guidelines

We use social media to provide information and support about mental health problems, and to keep you, our supporters, up to date with our work and opportunities to get involved. It’s also a place for people to share experiences if they wish, and to start wider conversations about mental health. It’s important to us that our social media channels are a safe place for debate and conversation.

To make this possible, we ask people to appreciate the sensitive nature of discussions and to follow the guidelines below while interacting on our social media channels:

  • Be respectful of others and their opinions.
  • Do not make personal attacks in your comments.
  • Do not post content that is discriminatory, obscene, inflammatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, profane or personally abusive.
  • Do not post anything that could be libellous or defamatory: if an accusation is made against a named person, for example at a member of staff at a service, we will hide it.
  • Do not post content with explicit or technical detail of self-harm or suicide.
  • Do not post adverts for commercial products or services.
  • Do not post repeatedly about issues that are off topic i.e. spam.

On Facebook we use filters to automatically hide obscenities and will use our own discretion to hide comments that go against these guidelines. If we do so, we will comment to let you know this is the case, unless your comments have repeatedly contravened the policy and we have explained this to you previously. Your comment may still be visible to you but won’t be visible to others using the site.

On rare occasions, we may block users from the page if the nature of their comments does not change, but we will always warn you of this and highlight our commenting guidelines before doing so. Facebook’s general community guidelines should also be considered when using the site.

If anyone makes our staff, volunteers or participants uncomfortable – online or in person – we reserve the discretion to block them from our pages. This includes directly naming them or making indirect attacks that clearly identify them.

Our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels are moderated daily all year round (LinkedIn is Mon-Fri only), with reduced hours on weekends and bank holidays. If you have questions, need support, or guidance we always aim to respond within reasonable time – but this might be the next working day, depending on our capacity. If you see something that doesn’t seem right, or that makes you feel uncomfortable, do try and make us aware if you feel able to do so. You can directly message us or follow this link.

If you have any ideas for how we can moderate our channels better, please email marketing@dorsetmind.uk.
