Active in Mind provides a safe and friendly group where we socialise with peers over a cuppa and participate in games and physical activity.
The group welcomes people with mental health challenges who are looking to try new activities and build connections with others. Activities offered can include:
- Boardgames such as chess, Scrabble or backgammon
- Sports such as pool and table tennis
- Card games like UNO
- Arts and crafts
- Mindfulness activities
Monday sessions form part of the Peer support service.
Dorset Mind’s NEW Peer Support Group Service aims to enable Adults with lived experience of mental health and wellbeing concern to set up and run peer support groups in their own communities.
The Monday session is run by Peer support volunteers and is a social group.
Peer support is when people use their own experiences to help each other. There are several types of peer support, but they all aim to:
- bring together people with shared experiences to support each other
- provide a space where people feel accepted and understood
- treat everyone’s experiences as being equally important
- involve both giving and receiving support
The Thursday session is being run by a group facilitator.
Register you interest above and the Group Facilitator will be in contact to book in a call with you.
