Hosted by Bournemouth University between 10th – 13th October, a series of seminars have been organised to mark World Mental Health Day 2016. Dorset Mind are proud to be involved in a collaboration between some of Dorset’s premiere mental health services, Bournemouth University; Borough of Poole; and The Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner.

Meeting Mental Health Challenges in the Community – Tuesday 11th OctoberOur Chair of Trustees, Chris Price, and Patron Dr Andrew Mayers will be speaking about the work Dorset Mind does, who we help and the organisations we work with. The presentation focuses particularly on our work with the LGBT community, our Befriending service and some of our support groups. Chris and Andy will also discuss the need for a youth mental health service in Dorset, and what the plans are to move forward with this.
Mental Health and LGBT – Thursday 13th October
This seminar features a talk by Dorset Mind’s Service Delivery Manager Mandy Nicholson, and Chris Price. They will look at Dorset Mind’s work supporting LGBTI people through our MindOut support group. Mandy and Chris will also talk about the new LGBTI Wellbeing in Mind courses developed with Skills and Learning.
