MHFA Training FAQs

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is nationally recognised training. Employees can undertake it to compliment your company’s overall wellbeing strategy – whether that be in conjunction with our Dorset Mind Works Packages or in isolation. Additionally, it provides all attendees with a deeper insight and understanding of mental health.

As an approved Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England) Instructor Member, we offer the evidence-based interactive learning course face to face and online, that helps to raise
awareness and develop skills. Our course empowers people to notice signs of mental ill health, and encourage them to break down barriers, listen in a non-judgemental way, and signpost to support for recovery.

This course qualifies you as a MHFAider®, giving you:

  • An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.

Please note we are limited to 16 people per session.

Your fee includes a MHFA manual, workbook, e-certificate, a pocket size action card for each attendee as well as three years of support from MHFA England via the use of an app, free CPD and other downloadable resources.

Yes, Keyworkers including teachers benefit from 20% Discount (ID must be proven beforehand)
