In mid-September TeamMindBMX invited us to represent Mind at their Charity Race Day. The end of season fundraiser was held at Bournemouth BMX Club. Around 100 riders – of all ages – took part in various races and the ‘King of Dirt’ competition. Dorset Mind had a stall at the event and helped raise awareness about mental health, which was one of the main aims of the day. The Mayor of Bournemouth opened the races and everyone had a great time. The sun also shone for us, on what was truly the last warm weekend of the year. There were food stalls, a bouncy castle and a BMX-themed raffle. We met many lovely people, and provided information about who we are and how we help people with mental health problems.
