Our ambassador and the beauty queens

Dorset Mind Ambassador, Romy Simpkins, for organizing a beauty pageant in our aid. Romy’s Sensational Pageant was held on the 26th November, over in Alton, Hampshire.  There were 25 contestants who took part.  The aged categories ranged from Junior Sensational to Mrs Sensational. There were many rounds that the entrants were judged on including an interview round, and a charity round.  The contestant who raised the largest amount was acknowledged.  The girls all really enjoyed the evening, and benefitted from increased confidence and making new friends. Here are a few photos from the evening: [gallery columns="2" ids="3495,3499,3498,3500"]

A success for our ambassador

Sensational Pageant ran extremely well thanks to Romy’s super organizational skills – especially as it was the first time she’d put on a show of this scale.  And £1,723.59 was raised for Dorset Mind, for which we are over the moon! You may recall our original post, about why as a mental health charity we felt comfortable with working alongside a beauty pageant.  To see the original post again, click here. Thanks again Romy, you’ve made a considerable difference to the local people of Dorset.]]>
