Ken joined Dorset Mind in 2015 and became Chair of the Board in early 2017. Under Ken’s guidance the management and governance of the charity has become progressively stronger and more professional. He’s built a close-knit Board of experienced business and health professionals, whom work closely with staff and community organisations to deliver the charity’s strategy across Dorset.
Ken’s leadership has also seen Dorset Mind experience exponential financial and professional staff growth, which helps deliver the best outcomes for local people across the county.
Ken has a varied background in leadership and business. He has experience in senior operational and strategic management levels within national government and a global multi-national company before becoming Managing Director of his own global risk consultancy.
He was also an active member of The Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Justices of the Peace for Dorset for seven years.
He has practical and strategic experience in both the mental health and hospice arenas, and is also a member of the Dorset Voluntary Community Sector Governance Board.
