Hey! My name is Harry, I am 26 and recently returned to Bournemouth after a 3 years sabbatical in the big smoke.
You may know me for always banging on about Indian spices and vegetables from our restaurant group Baboo Ji – and promoting mental health awareness in hospitality.
In 2013, I started working in the hospitality industry in Dorset and progressed to management level. I gained hugely valuable experience in a supportive workplace. In 2019, I went to London, where I managed a reputable live music bar in Soho. I then took on the challenge of running the most in-demand restaurant on the Kings Road, Chelsea. These experiences have given me immense enjoyment, but also shown me the challenges in our society and the impact this has on everyone’s mental health.
We all recognise that we live in a current world where no day is the same. And challenges can be thrown at us constantly, which can be difficult.
Each year we find ourselves becoming braver and stronger with mental health openness. Help is becoming readily available. And thankfully, through the fantastic work that Dorset Mind does, we can continue to unite as a community to confront the stigma.
