Description
Why is it still so difficult to talk about our mental health?
1 in 4 people in the UK will have a diagnosable mental health condition in their lifetime – and this is collated from data of the people that ARE accessing support. If this is so common, then what is stopping our local community from seeking the help that they deserve?
In times when we are unsure of the unknown and have to constantly ‘stay strong’ and build our resilience, it is understandable why so many people may be struggling.
We want to shine a light on Mental Health and the power of talking in Dorset this November, in line with International Men’s Day and Men’s Mental Health Month.
74% of UK deaths by suicide are men. We NEED to get our community talking.
This event is for anyone who may want to learn how to have a conversation with a loved one about their mental health, for someone who may want to address those hard conversations with a colleague or for someone who wants to access support themselves but doesn’t know where to begin. Guided by our expert trainers and speakers, educate yourself around the conversation of stigma, suicide, the power of talking and recovery. All we ask is to take away #onesmallaction from the day, to help provide support for yourself or someone within our local community.
Our Dorset Mind Works team promise to continue spreading awareness and helping to educate individuals, to create a mentally healthy Dorset.
#getdorsettalking
Please note tickets are free (with an optional charity donation) and lunch will be provided on the day. This event is open to the public, you must be 18+ to attend.
The day includes educational workshops and activities to support the conversation around difficult conversations and the power of recovery. Please take time to consider your self-care needs before, during and after this conference.
A huge thank you to our sponsors:
