Youth mental health services discussed on BBC Radio Solent

Chris’ timely interview followed a piece on the breakfast show regarding youth services in the South West. In it, Chris describes
Dorset Mind’s plans to establish various services for young people.
These include a
helpline to signpost both parents and young people to the statuary services or charities that an help them. She also mentioned our ideas for a
young befriending service and a safe forum that is supervised by qualified staff.
We need help to fund these services. Dorset Mind estimate it will take £55k to set up these facilities, of which we have raised £6k so far. We have started to work with schools and take our
‘Education in Mind’ programme to various establishments.
