Dorset Mind is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and personable individual to join the Children and Young People Service Team on their bank staff as a CYP Service Practitioner.
The purpose of the role is to offer high quality psycho-education and emotional support through a variety of interventions to young people age 11-25 experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.
The role includes delivery of some/all of the following;
- Education in Mind – a programme of psychoeducation delivered in secondary schools across Dorset which includes Assemblies, PSHE lessons, Workshops, Wellbeing (peer) Mentor training, 121 support, Parent talks and Staff training.
- Connected Minds – Activity based support groups running throughout Dorset to specifically help CYP who have difficulties attending school due to their mental health.
- Wellbeing Support groups – Drop-in emotional support groups for CYP in a variety of locations across Dorset.
This role is fundamental to our goals in supporting children and young people with mental health difficulties across Dorset and the successful candidates will have a track record of operating with passion in a similar role. They will also share the values of the organisation, have a flexible approach to work, be able to work independently and as part of a team, show dedication to improving the wellbeing of young people and evidence an in-depth knowledge of different therapeutic approaches.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 28th October. Candidates successful at the interview stage may be invited to undertake a further competency-based exercise at a later date TBC.
