Main Purpose

Dorset Mind is seeking an ambitious and passionate individual to take our exceptional Children and Young People’s Services to the next phase of their development.

The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the effective running of the entire range of young people’s services. They will also work closely with other organisations to develop and expand a Children and Young People’s Services Strategy that establishes a collaborative model of education and support across Dorset.

This is a key role within the organisation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of operating within a similar role already. They will have an in-depth knowledge of the mental health challenges faced by young people and the range of services already available to them. The successful candidate will also have an understanding of the gaps where more support is required.

This person will share our values and demonstrate a desire to work in a stimulating and busy environment. They will thrive on improving systems and procedures. The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with individuals and organisations towards shared outcomes. They should be able to oversee a complex project plan that involves both internal and external agencies.

Candidates successful at the first interview stage may be invited to undertake a further competency-based selection exercise at a later date.
