We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Service Practitioner to join our passionate Children and Young People team to deliver our school-based wellbeing programmes to 11-18 year olds. We cover Primary, Middle and Secondary schools across Dorset, so applications from all areas of the county are welcome.
As our newly appointed Service Practitioner, you will facilitate sessions as part of the Education in Mind and Big Umbrella programmes within the school environment. You will ideally have experience in facilitating sessions which will include assemblies, workshops and 1:1’s that promote good mental health and wellbeing and are emotionally supportive and inclusive. You will share our passion for advocating positive mental health and providing young people with tools and skills to support themselves, as well as others.
The successful candidate will work well as part of a team and on their own, and their responsibilities will include administration associated with the design, running and evaluation of the sessions, data collection and handling, active listening, sharing feedback and abiding by policies.
The job will require commitment to facilitating programmes which can encompass the whole school year or have set weekly patterns.
We train our new Practitioners to have the framework and resources available to them to confidently support others.
Dorset Mind is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role will require an enhanced DBS check.
