Changes to support during the Covid-19 outbreak
Please note, that our existing services will be replaced by telephone or video meetings from this time until further notice.
We recognise that with so many people experiencing uncertain times, isolation, loss of income and contact with friends and family, we have a key role to play in helping them manage their mental health and wellbeing. We are doing everything we can to design new services to help as many people as we can.
We will contact our existing participants individually to let them know of this development and to explain the alternative options that we’ve put in place to continue supporting them.
From Monday 23rd March you can email us if you need our support with your wellbeing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do what we can to help you.
The group’s focus is to educate people about common mental health issues like stress, anxiety and depression, how to spot the signs and symptoms as well as finding helpful ways of coping and improving them.
You can attend the two-hour session on a drop-in basis – and will be encouraged to participate as much or as little as you like.
What can you expect from the Wellbeing group – PLEASE NOTE that our services are moving online
The group offers peer support and helps to reduce stigma by normalising conversations about mental health. It encourages people to talk about wellbeing challenges or triumphs with others who share similar experiences. The group provides an accepting and supportive environment. The educative workshops gives an opportunity to access support and identify helpful and holistic ways of coping and improving mental health.
The group has guidelines and a contract to ensure that it’s a safe, accepting, confidential and respectful space for everyone who attends. The group is facilitated by a qualified counsellor to help people to process their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Therapy and counselling are not available within the group but details of local counselling services can be provided upon request.
What happens at the Wellbeing group? – PLEASE NOTE that our services are moving online
The group activities and events are identified, discussed, negotiated and agreed in partnership with group members. Some sessions start with guided-relaxation which is followed by share-timefor people to share their experiences and access peer support. Following a short refreshment break (tea and coffee will be provided with a small cost) there is an educative workshop exploring topics like;

- Developing self-compassion
- Silencing the inner critic
- What is mindfulness?
- Challenging negative thinking
- Building self-esteem.

- Alternative therapies
- Exercise and neuroplasticity
