Mind Blue Light Counsellor

Dorset Mind are seeking experienced freelance Counsellors for Front line Emergency Blue Light Personnel in various locations across Dorset.

Being a qualified counsellor, the post-holder should have experience of working within the Mental Health Sector. They will be passionate about counselling Blue Light Front Line Emergency Personnel. This includes providing psycho-education about Stress, Anxiety and Depressive Conditions including PTSD. They should also be able to provide helpful ways of coping and managing symptoms.

The service aims to help Blue Light personnel develop resilience. The counsellors will help identify client-centred ways of coping and developing positive mental health.

The post-holder should ideally have direct experience of or be passionate about blue light front line emergency services. Only people with a minimum of 8 hours training, counselling people experiencing trauma and dissociation, and two years post-qualification counselling experience (including integrating CBT) into their practice need apply.

Counsellors will be required to source, book, cancel and pay for their own counselling venues throughout Dorset.
