Children and Young People – Service Practitioner

Dorset Mind is seeking an experienced Service Practitioner to help us expand and deliver our ‘Dorset Mind Your Head’ Children and Young People’s service across Dorset.

The post is a part-time sessional contract, hours to be arranged.

The intention of this post is to offer support to young people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties through group work, 1-2-1 interventions, training and education. 

The work will involve coordinating and undertaking all aspects of the service offered, including handling enquiries, session preparation and delivering.  

This role includes delivery of some/all of the following; 

Dorset Mind Your Head – a programme of psychoeducation delivered in secondary schools across Dorset which includes assemblies, PSHE lessons and group workshops.  

Big Umbrella – an early intervention, facilitated self-help service, for children and young people, within a number of school settings across Dorset.    

Connected Minds – Activity based support groups running throughout Dorset to specifically help CYP who have difficulties attending school due to their mental health.  

Peer Mentor training – training cohorts of students to become peer mentors for wellbeing. 

Support groups – Drop in support groups for CYP in a variety of locations across Dorset.
