26th – 28th January
The 4x4x48 Challenge

What is it?
Our challengers will run 4 miles every 4 hours, for 48 Hours!

26th to 28th January

Where does this take place?
Start: 4pm on the 26th at the lobby of the Hilton Hotel
Finish: 12.45pm on the 28th at Bournemouth Gardens by Pavillion Dance South West (PDSW)

Who is this for?
This challenge is suitable for experienced runners – who have trained for this challenge.

1st – 29th February
10k Steps a day

What is it?
Join the Mind Over Matter community and walk or run a total of 290,000 steps by completing 10,000 steps every day in February! People who are less mobile can join in by setting themselves a daily target distance.

When is it? 1st to 29th February – we have a leap year this year!

Where does this take place?
It’s up to you – but please take care, be mindful of your capabilities and safety – why not walk/run with someone else? It’s more fun that way too!

Who is this for?
This challenge is suitable for everyone – consistency is key, and will get us through towards Spring.

24th March
The Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run

What is it?
The Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run takes place every year along the stunning Bournemouth Promenade. Choose your distance: 5k, 10k, Half Marathon – or a 1k fun run for children.

When is it? 24th March, various race times.

Who is this for?
This challenge is suitable for all levels of runners, those starting off on their running journey – perhaps you’ve completed the C25k programme – and also the more serious runners who are looking to beat their PBs.

How to register:
Please note, sign up costs vary – and there is no fundraising target. However, if you raise £50 for us, you’ll receive a FREE Dorset Mind T-shirt!

The Lulworth to Swanage Jurassic Hike

What is it?
A challenging 21 mile hike from Lulworth to Swanage along the picturesque but brutal Jurassic Coastline.

When is it? April, Date tbc

Who is this for?
This challenge is suitable for keen walkers and have walking footwear and clothing. Training is advised as the pathway is extremely undulating!

18th – 19th May
The Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge

What is it?
Take on the scenic Jurassic Coast in May! Ultra Challenges offer a variety of distances from 25km to 100km along the beautiful Heritage Coast.

When is it? 18th to 19th May

Who is this for?
This challenge is suitable for a wide range of fitness and ages. Training is advised again as this coastline is unforgiving but rewarding! Preparation is key – and you’ll have access to a Challenge App that will help you with training guides, an online forum and support.

At the end of your challenge, you’ll receive a medal and Ultra T-Shirt!

How to register:

16th – 18th June
The Three Peaks Challenge

What is it?
We’re teaming up with Nomad Mountaineering to offer you the opportunity to take on the three highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales: Ben Nevis – Scafell Pike – Snowdon.

Please note, this challenge is over 3 days, not the 24hr challenge.

When is it? 16th to 18th June

Who is this for?
Keen walkers who want to push themselves and conquer the three iconic peaks!

How to register:
Fees: Sign up £300, with a £300 Fundraising Target (that’s £100 per peak!).
Travel, Accommodation, Fully qualified leaders, medal, t-shirt – All included!

5th – 9th September
Iceland Fire & Ice Trek

What is it?
3 nights wild camping & 3 days trekking in the incredible Icelandic wilderness amongst glaciers, volcanoes, sweeping valleys, raging rivers, and lava fields.  For your last night, you’ll celebrate out in the Icelandic capital, Reykjavik and sleep in a hotel!

When is it? 5th to 9th September

Who is this for?
This challenge is rated as Moderate+ and requires a good level of fitness.

12th – 13th October
Run Bournemouth

What is it?
Run Bournemouth offer a range of running events from the children’s 1km to a Half Marathon, 13.11 miles. The Mind Over Matter crew are aiming for the Half, but you can join in at your own pace.

When is it? 12th to 13th October – start times vary to reflect the race distance.

Who is this for?
It’s open to everyone, you can choose your distance to reflect your ability.

The Dorset Mind BIG Walk

What is it?
Join the Dorset Mind team as we undertake 26.2 miles along the 7-miles of golden sands from Sandbanks to Christchurch and back.

When is it? October TBC.

Who is this for?
It’s open to everyone, join us for all or part of the way! The promenade is reasonably flat, but there are some inclines. Our fundraising team will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

How to register:

1st – 30th November
The Autumn 500km

What is it?
Complete 500km in the month of November – your way. You can run, walk, swim or cycle – virtually or outdoors. We’re aiming to complete the final 1km together on 30th November, location TBC.

When is it? 1st to 30th October.

Who is this for?
Individuals, couples, groups, families – why not split the distance if it’s too much for you?!

December
The 12 Days of Christmas!

What is it?
Swim, walk, cycle or run 12km a day for 12 days in the lead up to the Festive Season.

When is it? Choose your dates.

It’s open to everyone!
