New Springs is a relatively new dance troupe. It’s ethos is to inspire and build self-esteem, confidence and motivation. Their ‘Road to Recovery’ is an evening of dance based on interpretations of mental health.
Dance to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week
Perfectly timed, it’s being held on Sunday May 14th, at the end of Mental Health Awareness Week (8th – 14th May). The evening will feature many styles of dance, from modern street styles to traditional – there will be something for everyone.
Road to Recovery
Its well known that dance can help people with issues such as anxiety. And as with any exercise, the release of serotonin boosts our mood and overall wellbeing.
As Emily from New Springs explained “It allows us to simplify our thoughts and focus on ‘the now’ with our bodies and movement instead of the stresses in life! From our own personal experiences we want to show people there is a road to recovery, no matter how hard it can be; and what better way to get there than through dancing?!”
Tickets for the evening cost just £12, there is also a concessionary price of £10. To buy tickets from the Regent Centre’s website, please follow this link. The doors open at 18:00, and the show starts at 18:30.
New Springs is facilitated by Mad4Dance – see here for more information, or contact Emily via email. All profits kindly go to Dorset Mind – and we can’t wait to see the performance!SaveSaveSaveSave]]>
