Announcing Coffee & Cake at Rick Stein Sandbanks

Come and help Dorset Mind celebrate World Mental Health Day on 10th October.  It’s the perfect opportunity to discuss mental health over coffee and cake with friends.  And at what better setting than overlooking Poole Harbour at Rick Stein Sandbanks?

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day (WMHD) is held on 10th October every year as an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world.  Our aim is to get people talking about mental health, in that way we hope to remove the stigma associated with it. So what can you expect at this special event?  For starters you will be served coffee and cake at the exclusive setting… Two of Dorset Mind’s ambassadors will speak about mental health, and what it means to them.  This will be followed by a short, fun quiz. There will also be the chance to buy raffle tickets.  Try your luck at winning one of these excellent prizes: a Rick Stein Book kindly provided by Rick Stein; a Virgin Family Activity Weekend Pass; a Reflexology beauty session, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a case of wine.

The perfect setting

Rick Stein Sandbanks have generously allowed us an afternoon at the latest addition to the chain of seafood restaurants.  Very much a family run business, this is only the second restaurant to be opened outside Cornwall by the celebrated chef.  The interior is fittingly inspired by the coast and designed by Rick Stein’s ex-wife Jill.  Executive chef and Rick’s middle son, Jack Stein, oversees the kitchen and his youngest son Charles is supplying some of the wines for the restaurant.
