In 2018 Christchurch is hosting the inaugural year of FlowerFest. This is a festival created from flowers which takes its inspiration from the annual flower festival in Girona, Spain.
Local retailers will showcase their ideas and creativity in displaying flowers. You will see displays ranging from small potted plant to elaborate window presentations.
What can you expect to see at FlowerFest in Christchurch?
The event will raise the profile of floral creativity and to help showcase the joy it brings to people when they work with nature
The floral trail wanders through Christchurch and will incorporate plenty of floral displays. This trail will feature local businesses on the High Street, Saxon Square, The Priory grounds, The Red House Museum.
The floral trail is open from 13-17th June 2018 and the trade stands in The Red House Museum will be run over the weekend of 16-17th June 2018.
There are still installations with space to be sponsored. If your business is interested please contact Glenda Stansbury.
FlowerFest and Mental Health
By working with flowers, nature and gardening it increases our levels of serotonin which in turn increases your happiness. By highlighting this FlowerFest wants to help improve people’s mental health. Local Mental Health and Wellbeing charities and organisations will have the chance to showcase the work they do in the area. Each organisation will have a designated area in Saxon Square.
Also, all proceeds from the 2018 FlowerFest will be donated to Dorset Mind towards our youth services.
