Bournemouth 7s Festival is the UK’s favourite sport and music festival welcoming 30,000 people over the late May Bank Holiday each year. By day 400 rugby, netball, dodgeball, hockey and volleyball teams compete in a range of sports tournaments. By night a host of local DJs and live acts perform in 12 themed festival arenas.

New Body Fitness know that gyms and/or fitness communities has a huge benefit in helping people manage difficult times, improve daily structure and offers a positive environment to go to when times are hard. Fitness is developing into not just being physical strength but mental strength as well and it’s great to be able to support these changes and offer a service that accommodates everyone.
Christchurch Rotary was formed in 1950 and today consists of 49 men and women who meet socially and regularly fundraise as a club to benefit local worthy causes. Members are part of the international Rotary network of over 1.2 million people and help support international causes such as WaterAid and ending polio. Christchurch Rotary helps support Dorset Mind’s youth programme – they were instrumental in creating its strategy and helped fund the initial pilot project.
The Rotary Club of Westbourne is a vibrant and welcoming club that meets for breakfast every Thursday morning. The Rotary Club of Westbourne is not only about raising money and supporting the local community. It is also about meeting new people, developing friendships and having fun. During the year, our club members enjoy many social and sporting occasions with fellow Rotarians and their partners, which develop long-term friendships with like-minded people.
Poole Bay Rotary is one of nine Rotary Clubs in the BCP conurbation. Poole Bay Rotarians have supported Dorset Mind over the last three years and helped establish their ‘Dorset Mind Your Head’ programme for young people. Other activities have included the Christmas Santa Train, Canford Cliffs Zig Zag path upgrade, Pirates, Castaways & Codfish Poole history project and working with local schools. The Bournemouth-Swanage Motor Road and Ferry Company is known locally as the Sandbanks Ferry Company. It’s run a chain ferry service between Sandbanks in Poole and Shell Bay in Studland, near Swanage, for almost 100 years, and has been in the same family ownership since 1983. The present ferry, ‘Bramble Bush Bay’, is used by residents, tourists, and businesses throughout the year to reduce their travel time from Poole to Purbeck. They also enjoy the spectacular views across Poole Harbour and the local beaches.
Stewarts is a family run group of three garden centres, here to help people enjoy their garden, home and workplaces. With centres in Christchurch and Wimborne, their fun, happy and helpful staff are always on hand to answer your gardening questions. Stewarts history dates back to 1742, where they grew millions of plants up in Scotland and continue to grow their own plants to this day, never losing sight of their horticultural roots.

Vantage Sporting Group regularly host Bournemouth’s ‘Premier Boxing Events.’ These special nights have been going since 2015 and in 2017 took the form of ‘VCBC Charity Boxing Challenge.’ Recent events have been in support of Dorset Mind and have raised thousands of pounds for the charity. The Challenge involves all genders competing and fundraising in front of a crowd following eight weeks of dedicated and structured training at Fit2Box Gym, Bournemouth. Not only this, Vantage’s Founder and MD, Ty Temel is an influential campaigner for mental health.
Weymouth College is a general further education college based on the coast of South Dorset. They deliver education and training to over 2,500 students including 1,300 young people, over 500 adults and 500 apprentices – in partnership with over 400 employers – on an annual basis. Their curriculum is broad and varied, offering academic, technical, professional and apprenticeship programmes, alongside a substantial corporate training offer for employers.
Weymouth College believes they should be at the heart of the Weymouth and Portland communities, delivering excellence in education and training across Dorset, improving future career opportunities, and supporting the recovery and growth of our local economy. They have a team of trained mental health first aiders onsite – to listen, reassure and support students. This demonstrates their commitment to partnership working with Dorset Mind to ensure the continued mental health wellbeing of their staff, students, their families and communities.
White Star Running is a trail running events company based in beautiful Dorset. Their races are held in and around the Dorset countryside, as well as in neighbouring Wiltshire and Hampshire. While the races can be challenging at times, they are designed to be fun, inclusive and friendly. Distances include everything from kids races through to ultramarathons, and summer events also offer family-friendly camping and evening entertainment.
