Bournemouth 7s Festival is the UK’s favourite sport and music festival welcoming 30,000 people over the late May Bank Holiday each year. By day 400 rugby, netball, dodgeball, hockey and volleyball teams compete in a range of sports tournaments. By night a host of local DJs and live acts perform in 12 themed festival arenas.
Contenders ready! A brand new summer festival of fitness. Contender Fest, a three-day festival which combines fitness challenges and taster classes, with food, entertainment, music and family fun is coming to Bournemouth this summer, with tickets from £8. Taking place at Parley Lane, near Bournemouth Airport, from 10th to 12th September.
Crowd is a global creative agency based in Bournemouth. Founded in 2012, the agency is incredibly proud of its Dorset roots. It works closely with the BCP Council and The Jurassic Coast Trust, as well as numerous business committees to boost the region overseas. Established in 1984 David Upshall Insurance Service‘s aim has always been to provide their valued clients with an insurance service that exceeds expectations. They arrange policies with quality insurers that provide support to themselves and their clients.
David Upshall has supported Dorset Mind with numerous fundraisers and introductions to his network in an around Dorchester. David approached the charity several years ago when one of his staff had mental health issues and he realised that there were little services available for West Dorset. Due to David’s funding, we have a Wellbeing Support Group in Dorchester, The GAP project and have worked with several schools.
The Dorset Food Co was born in 2019 and with over 15 years in the catering & hospitality industry we believe food is at the heart of every celebration and this is true whether we are providing you with an intimate private dining experience in the comfort of your own home, serving fantastic sharing platters to 100 of your nearest and dearest in the fabulous Dorset countryside or supplying hungry festival goers much needed party fuel. Our aim and our only goal is to supply the people of Dorset with fantastic, tasty, wholesome food directly from their own doorstep! Choosing Dorset Mind as our chosen charity was a no brainier and we love being able to support them with their incredible work!

Hall & Woodhouse was created in 1777 in Dorset and has remained family owned every-since. Each generation of the H&W Family has developed their position within the drinks andhospitality industries and left a strong legacy for the next generation. There are now over 250 pubs within the chain.
The Hall and Woodhouse Visitor Centre is based in Blandford Forum and is the perfect location for a guided tour (restrictions permitting, please check before visiting), where you can explore the history behind the Badger brewery. New Body Fitness Gyms are based in Bridport and Weymouth, they will work together with Dorset Mind to promote the benefits of fitness for improving mental health and creating a positive mindset. New Body Fitness know that gyms and/or fitness communities has a huge benefit in helping people manage difficult times, improve daily structure and offers a positive environment to go to when times are hard. Fitness is developing into not just being physical strength but mental strength as well and it’s great to be able to support these changes and offer a service that accommodates everyone.
Christchurch Rotary was formed in 1950 and today consists of 49 men and women who meet socially and regularly fundraise as a club to benefit local worthy causes. Members are part of the international Rotary network of over 1.2 million people and help support international causes such as WaterAid and ending polio. Christchurch Rotary helps support Dorset Mind’s youth programme – they were instrumental in creating its strategy and helped fund the initial pilot project.
The Rotary Club of Westbourne is a vibrant and welcoming club that meets for breakfast every Thursday morning. The Rotary Club of Westbourne is not only about raising money and supporting the local community. It is also about meeting new people, developing friendships and having fun. During the year, our club members enjoy many social and sporting occasions with fellow Rotarians and their partners, which develop long-term friendships with like-minded people.
Poole Bay Rotary is one of nine Rotary Clubs in the BCP conurbation. Poole Bay Rotarians have supported Dorset Mind over the last three years and helped establish their ‘Dorset Mind Your Head’ programme for young people. Other activities have included the Christmas Santa Train, Canford Cliffs Zig Zag path upgrade, Pirates, Castaways & Codfish Poole history project and working with local schools. New members always welcome!
The Bournemouth-Swanage Motor Road and Ferry Company is known locally as the Sandbanks Ferry Company. It’s run a chain ferry service between Sandbanks in Poole and Shell Bay in Studland, near Swanage, for almost 100 years, and has been in the same family ownership since 1983. The present ferry, ‘Bramble Bush Bay’, is used by residents, tourists, and businesses throughout the year to reduce their travel time from Poole to Purbeck. They also enjoy the spectacular views across Poole Harbour and the local beaches.
Stewarts is a family run group of three garden centres, here to help people enjoy their garden, home and workplaces. With centres in Christchurch and Wimborne, their fun, happy and helpful staff are always on hand to answer your gardening questions. Stewarts history dates back to 1742, where they grew millions of plants up in Scotland and continue to grow their own plants to this day, never losing sight of their horticultural roots.

Vantage Sporting Group regularly host Bournemouth’s ‘Premier Boxing Events.’ These special nights have been going since 2015 and in 2017 took the form of ‘VCBC Charity Boxing Challenge.’ Recent events have been in support of Dorset Mind and have raised thousands of pounds for the charity. The Challenge involves all genders competing and fundraising in front of a crowd following eight weeks of dedicated and structured training at Fit2Box Gym, Bournemouth. Not only this, Vantage’s Founder and MD, Ty Temel is an influential campaigner for mental health.
Weymouth College is a general further education college based on the coast of South Dorset.
