Mental health problems can affect anyone: around one in four people will suffer from some form of diagnosable mental health problem during their lifetime. The most common forms of mental health problems are anxiety and depression, but there are many others including bipolar, schizophrenia, eating disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Dorset Mind is a charity that has supported people in Dorset with mental health difficulties since 1946. We educate people about mental health, challenge stigma and provide support towards peoples’ wellbeing and recovery. Although an affiliate of national Mind, we are independent and generate our income. We have an ambitious and varied income strategy that ensures we are funded through various means: community and corporate fundraising, individual donations, charitable trusts and our trading streams that include mental health training.
Our registered charity number is 1108168 and our company number is 5333018.
