South West Trains commit to mental health
‘Time to Change’ is a growing social movement run by national Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. It aims to enable people to open up to mental health problems. By signing, South West Trains commit to change the way we all think and act about mental health in the workplace.
And so, to celebrate the start of Mental Health Awareness Week 2017, South West trains are holding an awareness event. It will take place at Bournemouth Railway Station on 8th May, between 8am – 3pm.
The theme this year for Mental Health Awareness Week is ‘Surviving or Thriving?’ This is to encourage us all to consider our own mental health, and take the time to see if we can improve our wellbeing.
We know that many people are struggling with their mental health. At this event, we hope to be able to offer commuters advice or point them in the direction of help.
It will give charities such as ourselves the opportunity to help raise awareness of mental health problems. And the support available locally. We’ll be promoting our support groups, befriending services and training courses.
