The Shine Project are hosting their first Health and Wellbeing Event for teenage girls on 12th June this year. Their aim is to reach as many girls as possible with the message of their inherent value. They also hope to enable them with the tools to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
What does the day consist of?
Schools will have a two-hour time slot, and during this time the girls will be given the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops. Workshops include: dance classes, mindfulness sessions, creative arts and more. Professionals from a variety of different organisations will run the workshops.
There will be stands from local charities and businesses to help promote physical and mental wellbeing.
There is a reflective space, where the girls can take some time to receive a hand massage, partake in mindfulness colouring or just chill out on some beanbags.
Girls will be provided with a goody bag which they can use to collect information as they tour the exhibition. All our exhibitors will have activities at their stations to engage the girls with their service.
Dorset Mind will be there with information about our Youth Services and the work we do with schools and colleges to encourage good mental health. There will also be a quiz on our stand!
