Wellbeing in Mind Support Group

Who are we?

Wellbeing in Mind is a Support group focusing on managing anxiety and depression.  People can attend the 2 hour sessions on a drop in basis and stay for all or part of the session.  Everyone is free to participate as much or as little as they feel confident to, or would like to.

What can you expect from the Wellbeing group?

The group offers peer support and the opportunity to share difficulties, struggles and achievements with others who’ve had similar experiences as well as accessing support and alternative ways of coping.

Wellbeing in Mind is bound by group guidelines including confidentiality and respect and are maintained by the group facilitator to ensure that a safe space is provided to process thoughts, feelings and experiences.  Therapy and counselling are not available within the group but details of local counselling services can be provided upon request.

What happens at the Wellbeing group?

Group activities and structure are identified, discussed and agreed on a quarterly basis in consultation with group members.  However, each session might also include guided-relaxation and a check-in period for people to access peer support.

Following a short refreshment break (tea and coffee will be provided at 40p per cup) there will be peer-led workshops.  Subjects covered can include:

  • Food and mood,
  • What is mental health recovery?
