Services

In order to support people in the local area with mental health problems we run a number of support groups and services across Dorset.

East Dorset Support Groups

Active in Mind

Open to anyone experiencing mental health problems, and their support workers.  The group aims to provide a warm, welcoming and safe environment in which everyone feels supported, encouraged and stimulated.

When: Monday and Thursday afternoons, from 2pm to 4pm

Panacea in Mind Support Group

Panacea in Mind is a support service for people suffering from anxiety conditions, including Agoraphobia, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder.  It’s also for related conditions such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

When: Every other Wednesday from 10.30 to 12.30pm, The evening group meets once a month (see timetable OR events calendar for dates) on Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm

Wellbeing in Mind Support Group

Wellbeing in Mind is a fortnightly peer Support group for anyone aged 18 or over who wants to be mentally healthy. The group’s focus is to educate people about common mental health issues like stress, anxiety and depression, how to spot the signs and symptoms as well as finding helpful ways of coping and improving them. Each two-hour session can be attended on a drop-in basis and each person is encouraged to participate as much or as little as they would like.

When: First Tuesday of every month (from 7 – 9pm)

Women in Mind Support Group

Women in Mind provides a safe, secure and understanding environment in which women with mental health problems can support each other.

When: Wednesdays 1.00 – 3.00 p.m.

MindOut Support Group

MindOut is a safe, confidential and accepting space for LGB and Trans people experiencing mental health issues and offers recovery-based peer and staff support.

When:  Thursdays, between 1pm – 3.30pm
