PRESS RELEASE – The Stable’s Festive Donation

The Stable Festive DonationOver the Christmas period The Stable Restaurants – the ‘cathedral’ to cider and gourmet pizza – raised an amazing £3,000 for Dorset Mind.

Festive Donation…

The restaurant chain donated the money it would have spent on Christmas crackers and party hats for its party bookings.

And what’s more, Fuller’s Brewary, which owns 76% of The Stable, matched the money raised to make a total donation of £6,000.

The Stable was founded in Bridport, Dorset and chose Dorset Mind as its charity partner in March 2017.  Since then it has been hosting events to raise funds.  Each of The Stable’s 17 locations has paired up with a branch of Mind.  They aim to help make a difference to the on-going mental health campaigns and support services.

David Gough, The Stable’s Operations Director, said: “People are becoming more aware about issues surrounding mental health and rightly so. I’m delighted to work with Mind to not only raise money, but awareness too.

As a business with young team members and young customers, I hope this partnership means we encourage young people to fight the taboo surrounding mental health and get people talking to each other about these serious issues.

I’m really proud of this partnership and am looking forward to seeing where it will take us. We’ve already got some great fund-raising initiatives in place.  I’m excited to be working closely with the teams at Mind branches across the country, to make a difference in people’s lives.”

A significant donation

Marianne Storey, Dorset Mind’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re very grateful for this kind donation from The Stable and also Fuller’s.  I think it says a lot when people, who were out celebrating Christmas, were prepared to forego seasonal table decorations to help people with mental health challenges.  Christmas time can be notoriously hard for people with poor mental health so the gesture was very meaningful.

Our partnership with The Stable is something I’m very excited about going forward. It’s great to work with a company founded in Dorset that can also support other local Mind branches.”

We’d like to add our thanks to The Stable for being amazing supporters and Charity Partners over the last year.  We’re looking forward to working with the company long-term!
