The role is to develop and manage the day-to-day running and coordinating of the Dorset Mind Adult Befriending Service in rural Dorset.
This role will cover North and West Dorset.
What the rural Dorset Befriending Facilitator role entails…
The post holder will report to our Service Delivery Manager and key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and supporting Volunteer Befrienders
- Processing referrals to ensure they meet Dorset Mind’s Befriending Service eligibility criteria
- Developing and improving the efficiency of the befriending service
- Administering the befriending service which includes: active communication with volunteers, referrers and stakeholders
Previous work within the mental health field and/or voluntary sector is desirable.
The role is between 5 and 22 hours a week depending on the applications as job shares are welcome (fixed-term contract).
