Gillingham School Drama Club Play ‘Institute’

Gillingham School Drama Institute‘Institute’ is a short play staged by Gillingham School’s Green Stag Drama Club.  It’s inspired by the ‘demonization’ of Mental Health problems in society.

The play is written and directed by the school’s drama club teacher, Marcus Armstrong.  It’s aimed at anyone over 11 years old.  The intention is to figuratively ‘hold up a mirror to the audience, and ask them to question their response.’

The synopsis of the play…

The end of the world has rained from the sky after the Euro/Americas war and an old mental institute and its terrible secrets have been left undiscovered: until now.

A group of children, on the run from a mysterious foe, stumble into the abandoned fortress and must ask themselves the question: just because someone is a little different, does that really mean they cannot be trusted?
