Dorset Mind Concert Review – The Hepplewhite Players

DM Concert Hepplewhite Players

A special concert in Bournemouth last week heralded the launch of a new initiative by charity Dorset Mind to support young people with mental health problems.  An appreciative audience in the Allsebrook Theatre enjoyed a performance by the Hepplewhite Players of music from Vivaldi to Halvorsen by way of Albeniz and Granados.  These talented players usually perform as a trio with piano, but on this occasion they comprised Amy Littlewood (violin) and Hetti Price (cello) – and these two easily filled the hall with luxurious sound.  The thrilling high notes of the violin and the sonorous tones of the cello had the audience calling for more.  The final work in the concert is known as The Impossible Duet, and it’s certainly virtuosic, but no problem to these performers!  Dorset Mind’s patron Dr Andy Mayers and Chair of Trustees Chris Price outlined the aims of the Appeal: to provide a range of services in the Dorset area for young people aged 14 to 25 with mental health difficulties, a cause which both performers and audience were pleased to support.  For more information, go to www.dorsetmind.uk.
